DIY Face Clean Up at Home

Skincare is of utmost importance at every age and during every season. Each season due to climate changes our skin can suffer various damages like developing acne, blackhead and whiteheads, dullness, scars, and marks. These damages can be caused even due to hormonal changes, eating habits and several external factors. We put our skin through god knows how many treatments at beauty salons and yet after spending a lump sum amount, our skin is still prone to get damaged. There is no permanent solution for this. However, what you can do is make sure you yourself take care of your skin by forming a routine home facial with natural ingredients. These cleanups improve the blood circulation and clean out the impurities of the skin.

  1. Cleanse:
Milk acts as a very effective cleansing agent. It is known to clean out the impurities dug into the pores of the skin. You can simply use cotton swabs, dip them in raw milk and massage your face using them in a circular motion. This is an essential step in the face clean up process.
  2. Scrub:
Take a few teaspoons of powdered coffee beans and combine it with a tablespoon of milk and honey with 5-6 poppy seeds. Mix these ingredients well until it reaches the consistency of a paste. Now apply this mixture on your face and scrub off all the dead skin cells as you massage making an upward motion. Continue this for a couple of minutes and then wash it off with water once it has slightly dried off. Coffee contains re-energizing properties, while honey and milk soothe and hydrate the skin leaving it refreshed and glowing.
  3. Tone:
Scrubbing opens up the skin pores and this leaves it more easily prone to redness, acne, breakouts and more. Hence, applying a toner right after scrubbing will prevent this from happening. To prepare a homemade toner boil a few leaves of neem and mint in two glasses of water and later drain the water once it has evaporated. Now apply this mixture with a cotton swab once it cools down to tone your cleansed skin. The cooling and antiseptic properties of neem and mint leaves will help disinfect your skin.
  4. Face Pack:
Once you have thoroughly toned your skin, apply this simple homemade face pack. Mix honey, sandalwood powder, calamine powder, fresh cream, and a few drops of almond oil. Apply it on your face for about 10 to 12 minutes and wash it off. The honey in the mixture will hydrate your skin while the cream in it will nourish it and protect your skin from the winters. This pack will also smoothen the skin texture and leave you with soft glowing skin.
  5. Moisturise:
To end this entire process properly, you need to moisturize your skin. Take a ripe banana, a tbsp of mayonnaise, 1 tbsp honey and a few drops of lemon juice. Combine these ingredients well to make a smooth paste. Apply this mixture to your face for approximately 10-15 minutes and then wash it off.

Follow these steps twice a month and get smooth, glowing and clean skin at quarter of the cost spent on expensive beauty treatments in salons.
